Spooky Stalks Haunted Cornfield
started as a yard haunt in 1998. After a
number of years of decorating the front
yard and collecting masks and other
props, we started Spooky Stalks
Haunted Cornfield in October 2005. We
have old and new friends that
volunteer their time to bring the haunt
to life every year. Our common bond is
the love of Halloween and the need to
scare.  We are proudly presenting the
2011 edition of Spooky Stalks Haunted
Cornfield.

Spooky Stalks Haunted Cornfield
12000 W. Appleton Ave.
Rating: 3 coffins

Review: Just being in a corn maze is creepy enough, but the scares start even before you get in line to
purchase your ticket. Keep this helpful hint in mind: If you think it's real, it's probably alive.

You start by entering the first of many houses along the cornfield pathway. In the first haunt, darkness is
the key element, along with shock and surprise. Along the trail, which is the length of three football fields,
you pass a number of abandoned vehicles, and creatures jump out from behind the cornstalks.

At one moment during the walk, six ghost-faced creatures descend on you from different angles and, just
when you think you're doomed, they retreat back into the cornstalks. I liked that a lot.

At one of the shacks, a ghoul storms out with a pot yelling for you to stay off his property. By the looks of
him, he doesn't get many visitors - or much sunlight.

The haunt also added a huge vortex in the middle of the cornfield. Now that's mind-blowing, and
unexpected.

Outside haunts offer a different element of fear: nature.

Scariest scene: Before you enter one of the shacks in the cornfield, a ghoul stops you at the door; you
hear sawing and screaming on the other side. The ghoul yells to someone inside the shack, "I've got
three more for you. Are you hungry? The voice on the side says: "Send them in, I've always got room for
three more."

What makes it unique? It's the only haunted cornfield in Milwaukee.

Fear factor: Medium/high

"This was my first haunted house and my last. I'm ready to go home. It was very scary. I don't know if I'm
